Other than that I love it. Once the softwear was installed I went right to work and haven`t looked back. This fit the bill nicely, and at a decent price. Have to unplug, then plug it in then it`ll work. I had been looking for a replacement for a Microtek that had given up the ghost. I also needed a better capability to scan slides. The only glitch is that if the scanner sits idle for a while, it gets `lost` and won`t scan.
I have only scanned a few paper items and it works well. I have owned it for about 6 months. I would purchase this again as it is a low priced way to transfer your slides to a digital format. I bought this scanner primarily to transfer my old slides to a digital format. While the transfer is by no means quick, I am very happy with the results as I can now view and print my slides from decades ago. Having to unplug the unit to turn it off is no big deal.
I highly recommend this scanner. I also love the photo software that came with it. I purchased this scanner a few months ago to use especially for scanning old photos & slides, & have really loved it. I have had absolutely no problems with it; it works quickly when plugged into a high speed USB port, & produces high quality reproductions. I have used it to "repair" some old photos that were torn or stained, & it works easily & thoroughly.
The included software makes it easy to use and has never caused any false starts. This scanner serves my needs for copying documents, creating.jpg images from pictures, slides or negatives, creating PDF documents and any other imaging requirements. Great product at a great price.Bruce Cole
Sometimes, for some reason, the scanner treats the slides as negatives. Other than that, it's been great. I use it mostly for converting 35mm slides to jpgs. You need to change the order of the slides in the holder to "fool" it back to the 35mm setting.
